Peter Cooper:
Peter Cooper was born in New York City 1791 and died in 1883. He only had one year of formal schooling. In his early life Cooper was a hat maker, cabinet maker, and a coach maker. When Peter Cooper heard that steam engines wouldn't work on sharp curves he didn't believe that that was true. He then built the Tom Thumb steam locomotive and proved to everybody wrong. He also invented gelatin, which we commonly refer to as Jell-O. |
“as free as water and air,” (refering to education)
