Stanley Hiller, Jr:
Stanley Hiller was only 15 when he designed the first successful helicopter. He was 17 when he presented it to the U.S. Army. Hiller was then drafted in World War Two for his brilliant invention. He was born in 1924, and died at the age of 81 in 2006. Helicopters were mainly used for war. Today they are used transportation, transporting goods, and used just for the thrill of riding. |
